Bottlebooks Networking Feature
California Wines has partnered with Bottlebooks to streamline your networking experience at Global Buyers Marketplace 2025. All buyers and exhibitors have been automatically added to the Bottlebooks Networking platform, where you can connect and schedule one-on-one meetings during the two days of Grand Tastings.
Networking is an essential part of the GBM experience. We encourage all participants to explore the directory, research potential partners, and set up meetings that align with their business goals. Buyers can use the filters to search the GBM wine directory by region, variety, price range, and more.
IMPORTANT – When you receive meeting requests (or if you have existing pending meeting requests), please confirm OR decline all meeting requests so schedules can be managed effectively.
To ensure everything runs smoothly, please follow the three steps below. If you need assistance, please contact Bottlebooks Support.
1: Log in and claim your profile
This is the first and most important step. Buyers & Wineries who have not claimed their profile cannot access or manage meeting requests.
Use the “Request Sign-In Link” to receive a link from Bottlebooks to sign in and create your profile.
2: Accept or decline meeting requests
All outstanding meeting requests must be accepted or declined – this ensures efficient scheduling and respects everyone’s time. Buyers & Wineries can manage requests through their Networking Calendar or via the emails they’ve received.
*You must have claimed your profile & be logged in to access your schedule.
3: Plan your meetings
Buyers & Wineries are encouraged to browse the exhibitor directory and request meetings directly with participants of interest. To refine your search, select “Producers Only” or “Buyers Only” from the dropdown menu.
Tips for Networking
- Do your research. Review profiles in the Bottlebooks directory before sending requests. Identify who aligns best with your goals or portfolio.
- Be prepared. Have a short, clear introduction ready – who you are, what you’re looking for, and how you can collaborate.
- Confirm or decline meetings promptly. Pending requests block calendar slots for both parties. If you haven’t heard back after a few days, cancel the request and reach out to another contact.
- Use the message feature. Before booking, send a quick message to see if there’s a good fit – this saves time and ensures quality conversations.
- Respect time zones and schedules. Keep communication professional and punctual.
Tips for Wineries
- Review the Buyer List and plan ahead. Research each buyer and develop a meeting strategy aligned with your export goals.
- Be ready to discuss your wines. Prepare your key talking points – sales potential, pricing, varieties, and style.
- Know your pricing. Have ex-cellar prices ready and, if possible, convert them to the buyer’s currency beforehand.
- Ask the right questions. During meetings, learn what buyers are looking for (price point, variety, and volume).
- Follow up. After the event, thank buyers for their time and provide any additional materials they requested.
Tips for Buyers
- Manage your meeting requests. Please confirm or decline all requests promptly – it’s an important part of keeping the event schedule efficient for everyone.
- Why declining is polite.
- It’s not personal – wineries often reach out broadly based on region or market focus.
- It frees up the winery’s schedule so they can meet with other buyers.
- Plan proactively. Search for producers that complement your portfolio and request meetings directly.
- Ask your reps for input. If you’re unsure about which wineries to meet with, your regional reps can guide you.
