GBM Travel & Accommodations
Traveling to California
Please ensure that your GBM registration is updated and accurately reflects your flight information. Registered buyers can easily edit their own registration details using the confirmation email.
Most guests are scheduled to arrive in San Francisco on Saturday or Sunday, October 25 or 26.
ARRIVAL INFORMATION: Upon arrival at SFO, guests are responsible for their own transportation to the San Francisco Marriott Marquis hotel. Please take taxi, public transit, or rideshare from SFO to the Marriott Marquis (780 Mission St, San Francisco, CA 94103). See SFO ground transportation options HERE.
TRAVEL ISSUES: If your flight is canceled or delayed, or if there is some other logistical constraint, please contact your California Wines representative directly.
TRANSPORT FROM SAN FRANCISCO TO NAPA VALLEY: Shuttles will be provided throughout the afternoon on Sunday, October 26 from the San Francisco Marriott Marquis hotel to the Westin hotel in Napa. Shuttle times and details coming soon.

Guests arriving in San Francisco on Saturday who indicated they will need a hotel, will stay downtown at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis.

Following the regional tours and the closing dinner at the Copia event center in Napa on Friday evening, buyer guests will be transported to San Francisco to overnight at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis.

SHUTTLE BUSSES – SAN FRANCISCO TO NAPA: Buyer guests will be pre-assigned to a specific shuttle bus from San Francisco to Napa. Please plan to be on your assigned shuttle bus, as there is limited capacity.
Depending on your shuttle departure time, guests may enjoy free time in San Francisco, or upon arrival in Napa (Guide to Napa).
Check-in at the Westin Hotel & Resort. The hotel is a short walk to the GBM main event location at Copia.

GBM Welcome Gathering
Buyers are invited to a casual Welcome Reception at Feast it Forward – just a short walk from the Westin hotel.
Enjoy California oysters and paella, alongside wines from winery guests joining the dinner.

Recommended Attire: This is a casual gathering in a mostly outdoor setting. Remember to bring warm clothing layers.

Small-Group Winery Dinners
GBM buyers are split into small groups for a fun evening of winery dine-arounds! Your host winery has been pre-assigned. Check back soon to see guest lists for each dinner, including winery co-hosts and your fellow buyer guests.
Meet in the Westin Napa lobby at 6:00pm and look for the bus leader holding the sign for your assigned winery dinner.

Buyers may choose not to attend the 10am Industry Insights panel discussion, and instead use this time for follow-up winery meetings.

Friday 31 October
Closing with California's Heritage in Focus
The final day of GBM regional tours will spotlight California’s old vine heritage.
Tour groups will reconvene at Copia event center in Napa for a unique afternoon and evening at the Old Vine Conference 2025. Buyers will take part in an old vine tasting, featuring 130+ standout old vine wines – from California and around the world. You will also attend a landmark conversation between two wine legends: Jancis Robinson and Paul Draper – before enjoying the GBM Closing Dinner at Copia, along side attendees of the Old Vine Conference.
2:00pm-2:30pm – Guests arrive at the CIA Copia event center to transfer luggage and “freshen up”
3:00pm – Grand Tasting: Old Vine Wines from California & Around the World
6:00pm – Jancis Robinson and Paul Draper, in Conversation
7:00pm – Closing Dinner for GBM Buyers (overlapping with the Old Vine Conference Opening Dinner at CIA Copia)
8:30 / 9:00pm – Buyers Depart for San Francisco GBM Shuttle Bus
Recommended Attire: Casual. Come “as you are” from the conclusion of your regional tour. We recommend packing a small day bag for your regional tour that might include items to help you feel refreshed for the afternoon/evening events with OVC.

Following dinner, buyer guests will be transported to San Francisco for their final overnight with GBM at the Marriott Marquis (if requested in registration form).
Old Vine Conference (OVC)

If you choose to register for the conference and extend your stay in California, please notify your California Wines representative.

California Wines is covering your flight to and from California, so if you intend to extend your stay for OVC, please clearly communicate your flight needs to your local California Wines representative.

As a GBM guest, your transportation, lodging, and meals are covered while you are with the group. If you choose to attend OVC, California Wines is unable to cover your expenses during that time.

Afternoons and evenings can be cool and windy, especially in coastal areas. Bring a jacket or sweater with you at all times.

What is Not Covered During Your Stay
- Transportation from SFO to the Marriot Marque hotel in San Francisco.
- Personal incidental expenses – bar charges, spa services, in-room mini-bar, room service, etc.
- Additional hotel room nights and transportation outside of the pre-arranged conference and regional tours.
- Travel Insurance – we recommend you take out travel insurance as the Wine Institute is not able to do this on your behalf.
Travel Tips
- There will be a WhatsApp group for each tour, we will provide the QR code to access these groups prior to leaving for the tour.
- Traveling in a group is even more pleasant if we do not have to wait for anyone. So may we ask everyone to be on time.
